HISTORY
CeGeREAL has acquired a first class expertise in its sector of activity. The company has had a presence for some considerable time in the Ile-de-France office property market and was created by Commerz Real Investmentgesellschaft (CRI), a German group specialising in asset property management.
- April 1999: the coming into being of CeGeREAL under the name of Commerz Grundbesitz France (CGF)
CGF owns and manages an asset situated at La Défense: the Europlaza complex. The company is 100% owned by Commerz Grundbesitz Investmentgesellschaft.
- December 2005: merger with two sister companies
CGF absorbs two companies also subsidiaries of CGI and exercising the same financial activity: CG Arcs de Seine, which owned the Arcs de Seine property complex, at Boulogne-Billancourt, and CGF II, owner of Rives de Bercy at Charenton-le-Pont. Following this merger, CGF takes the name Sopreal, then CeGeREAL.
- March 2006: listing on the Eurolist of Euronext Paris
Highly successful stock market listing: subscriptions reached nearly double that of the number of shares offered and the green shoe option was wholly taken up. 33% of the capital of the company - 4.4 million shares - are traded in the market.
- June 2006: option exercised for the French SIIC tax regime, backdated to 01/04/06
Subject to the payment of an exit tax to the Government, quoted property investment companies (SIIC) have an exemption available against corporation tax of the portion of their net income coming from their property rental activities. In return, 85% of the net exempt income must be distributed to shareholders.
- December 2007: In said respect, the German lawmaker (in the Investment Act as amended by the Investment Amendment Act on December 28, 2007) has repealed the restriction imposed on subsidiaries of German investment funds with respect to holding more than three realty assets. The repeal will allow such subsidiaries to increase their realty portfolios as soon as the hausInvest europa fund’s by laws have been accordingly amended.
- February 2008: Raphaël Tréguier becomes Deputy CEO of CeGeREAL. He thus takes in charge the operational management at CeGeREAL and has as main mission the company’s development.
- June 2010: Alec Emmott and Olivier Le Borgne join the CeGeReal Board of Directors. Alec Emmott is appointed as Independent Director, alongside Richard Wrigley, non-executive Chairman and Independent Director, and Jean-Pierre Bonnefond. GMF Vie, member of the Covéa Group (2nd largest shareholder at CeGeREAL), is appointed Director and will be represented by Olivier Le Borgne.
